Weekly Daytime Activities

                                                      Racket

Upon deciding to not play football my sophmore year of college, I have found my days suddenly open to do and try new and different things. To fill my time, I picked up racquetball. On the second floor of the Bell Center, across the hall from the upstairs weight room, there is a small desk with a bunch of what look like miniature tennis rackets hanging on the wall. Grab a racket and a ball and your set to play. Behind the weight room, there are 7 full sized racquetball courts. If you are complete beginner, as I was, people on the courts are generally very friendly and will help to teach you the game. If that is not enough, the people working behind the desk are also more than happy to help you learn and improve your game through advise and classes that can be taken. In terms of activities that students can partake in during the week, racquetball is a great option both for the social and physical activity. Make sure when you go to play, however, it is later in the afternoon because from 1-3 o'clock, the courts get pretty crowded during the week.
